Jitney

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Department of Theatre and Dance opened its theatre season in October by celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its nationally recognized Black Theatre Program with an alumni-based production of August Wilson’s “Jitney,” under the direction of Donis Leonard, M.F.A., associate professor of theatre arts. The alumni-based cast of “Jitney” included, left to right, Myron Campbell, assistant director (Fielding); Vincent Conard (Turnbo); Phil Bray, back row, (Doub); Rhamon Ford (Shealy); Jared Brown, CSUDH senior, front row, (Youngblood); Shonni Albritton (Rena); Donis Leonard, associate professor of theatre arts, director; Gregory Thomspon (Becker); Darryl McKellar (Booster); and Robin White, CSUDH Theatre Guild president (Philmore).
