Professor Baker has been a graphic design instructor at California State University Dominguez Hills since 1976. He received a BFA degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois and a MFA in Design from the University of Kansas.

His teaching specialty is print media in graphic design. Through his teaching he attempts to share the professional design world with the community, the campus, and his students. He has been co-curator on a number of art/design exhibits including the Computer Art as Art and Design, the Lu Lu Awards, and Five LA Design Firms, which included a one day graphic design conference for LA area design students.

In addition to teaching design classes in the traditional classroom setting, he has also taught distance learning classes via live television from the CSU Dominguez Hills campus and many graphic design workshops through Extended Education.

He has worked as a professional industrial design, package, and graphic designer, and continues to be active as a freelance designer.
