Dr. José R. López Morín received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from UCLA in the year 2001. Presently, he teaches courses in folklore, literature, history, and research methods at California State University, Domínguez Hills. His book entitled, "The Legacy of Américo Paredes" (2006) will be published soon by Texas A&M University Press. In addition to his academic interests, he sings and plays guitar and believes that he has fulfilled some of his dreams which include the publication of his dissertation and to teach at a university where there is a significant number of minorities."
