Professor White teaches Modern British Fiction, Critical Theory, and the Literature of Ethnicity and Gender in the English Department at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where she also serves as Graduate Coordinator. Her research interests include the works of Joseph Conrad about whose fictions she has presented conference papers, published articles, and written a book, Joseph Conrad and the Adventure Tradition: Constructing and Deconstructing the Imperial Subject. A book she is editing with two colleagues, a collection of essays entitled Reading Conrad in the Twenty-First Century is forthcoming from Routledge.
