Dr. Rudolph "Rudy" Vanterpool, Professor of Philosophy Ph.D. and M.A. in Philosophy from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, (1976, 1973), Dissertation on Hume’s Ethics. B.A. in Philosophy from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois (1971). Specialization in Ethics and Phi¬losophy of Law. Dr. Vanterpool has been teaching at CSUDH since 1976. He has been Chair of the Philosophy Department and of the Academic Senate and is currently the CSUDH representative to the statewide Academic Senate. In 1999 he was the recipient of the CSU Dominguez Hills Outstanding Professor Award. He is currently working on a textbook on critical thinking, entitled, Thinking Through Controversies, Arguments, and Fallacies: An Introduction to Critical Reasoning.
